The BLM Uncompahgre Field Office (UFO) is revising the Resource Management Plan (RMP) for the Uncompahgre planning area. The Uncompahgre RMP will provide detailed information about the current state of resources on public lands within the planning area, and set forth a plan of action for managing those resources for the next twenty or so years under the BLM’s dual mandate of multiple use and sustained yield.
The BLM Uncompahgre Field Office is seeking public input in helping to develop the Uncompahgre Resource Management Plan, and will provide a variety of opportunities to participate throughout the planning process.
WHAT ARE RECREATION PLANNING FOCUS GROUPS?
Focus groups provide the public with an opportunity to tell the BLM which recreational places, activities, and outcomes are important and why. The BLM has scheduled a series of these community-based meetings to better learn about and consider public perspectives regarding recreation across the planning area.
UPCOMING MEETINGS
Staff from the Natural Resource and Land Policy Institute of Mesa State College will facilitate the focus group conversations. Meetings will last approximately 90 minutes, and are scheduled in multiple locations and at varying times to make it more convenient for the public to participate. Choose the time and location that works best for you.
