BLM Prepares Environmental Assessment for Travel Management Plan Bullhead Unit

The Bureau of Land Management, Lake Havasu Field Office has completed the Bullhead Travel Management Plan and Environmental Assessment, and it is now available for review and a 30-day comment period.

The Travel Management Plan (TMP) is developed to implement a trail network, a decision contained in the 2007 BLM Lake Havasu Field Office Resource Management Plan. The TMP determines, by each affected resource, if specific routes are designated as open, limited, or closed, and contains a map of the route network.

The Bullhead TMP area generally includes public lands contained in the BLM Lake Havasu Field Office north of Interstate 40, on both sides of the Colorado River.

Copies of the EA may be viewed at these locations: BLM Office at 2610 Sweetwater Ave., in Lake Havasu City; Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce at 1251 Highway 95 in Bullhead City; and the Mohave County Library at 1170 E. Hancock in Bullhead City.
To view the EA online, visit www.blm.gov/az/st/en/prog/travel_mgmt/bullhead.html.

The BLM will finalize the TMP and EA after January 2, 2009, after considering the comments received. It will then be posted on the following website:
http://www.blm.gov/az/st/en/info/nepa/07_project_log.html.

The BLM Lake Havasu Field Office manages 1.3 million acres of public lands adjacent to the Arizona-California border and Colorado River. For additional information on the TMP or EA, contact Myron McCoy at 928-505-1216, or email the BLM local office at Lake_Havasu@blm.gov.
