Gunnison National Forest and BLM release Travel Management DEIS

The Gunnison National Forest and Bureau of Land Management have released a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) addressing travel management on federal lands within the upper Gunnison Basin and North Fork Valley.

Hard copy versions of the DEIS and maps are available for review at libraries in Gunnison, Crested Butte, Lake City, Salida, Paonia, Hotchkiss, Saguache, Delta, Montrose and Grand Junction (main branch). Copies will also be available for review at the BLM and Forest Service Offices in Gunnison, Lake City, Salida, Paonia, Montrose, Delta and Grand Junction. In addition, CDs with the DEIS and/or maps are available upon request.

Formal public review and comment will extend for 90 days from the publication of the Notice of Availability in the Federal Register. It is most helpful if comments are detailed to identify the issues, concerns and options that should be considered and/or addressed and changed and why.
