USFS Pacific Southwest Region Forest Plan Revision Workshop Postponed Jun 17, 2009The U.S. Forest Service's Pacific Southwest Region workshop on forest plan revision scheduled for July 1, 2009 has been postponed. A new date has not been set.The Forest Service public workshop originally scheduled for July 1 to discuss Forest Plan Revision efforts is being postponed.
In preliminary briefings held last week, Region 5 heard feedback from groups and individuals about the schedule and plans for completing Forest Plan Revisions. Some expressed concern for the aggressive schedule set. Others asked that remote location links be set up for the July 1 workshop. While others asked policy questions that will take some time to answer.
Region 5 has been meeting to discuss how to respond to all of the information that was presented and decided that it will take some time to prepare for a productive initial meeting that responds to the requests received.
The workshop will be rescheduled at a later date and Region 5 will keep everyone informed. Region 5 is delaying the workshop to ensure it will be as productive as possible. We appreciate your continued interest and involvement in this Forest Plan Revision effort. For more information visit: www.fs.fed.us/r5/planning.
